STAODYN Information!!! The Staodyn company that manufactured the "Maxima" and the "4500" series of TENS units and many others was bought out some years ago by Rehabilicare, then Rehabilicare was bought by Compex Technologies, then Compex was purchased by Encore in 2006! And some new news, the well-known Staodyn brand name has been revived with the new MAX-2 Elite device! You can get information on the rest of the Rehabilicare line of stimulation devices by checking out the Retail Products section of our website, under T.E.N.S. and Muscle Stimulation: Maxima, Maxima-2, Pro-Max, EMS Plus-2, NuWave, MAX-2 Elite.
However, it is still possible to access some of the electrodes and other accessories that are compatible with the original Staodyn labelled devices.
The older units had a "banana pin" connector (picture) that was inserted into the unit, whereas the newer equipment comes with a grey plastic "safety cable" (picture). This new configuration has no exposed metal on the leadwire where it attaches to the device.
* Unfortunately the older "banana pin" cable is no longer available.*
The newer cables come in 36" and 60" lengths at a cost of CAD$20.00 and $22.00 each (approx. USD$16.00 and $18.00).
All modern varieties of the pre-gelled self-adhering electrodes are compatible with any of the former Staodyn devices. Please call to discuss the options available to you in order to keep your TENS unit operating efficiently: 1-800-668-1667. Or you can e-mail: john@kinemedics.com
